Shop at Second Chances
WE ARE OPEN!As COVID conditions continue to evolve, please check the signs at the entrance to Second Chances for our social distancing and mask requirements.
Second Chances Used Bookstore (formerly The Book Cottage) is located in the second classroom from the entrance, across the hall from the Library double doors (directions). We offer free used books although donations will gladly be accepted (cash w/no change, or check to FOWCPL). Book donations can be dropped off during bookstore hours, or placed in the box by our door if we are closed. We do not accept magazines. Sometimes we get more books than we can handle of specific genres, so please check the notice by the box before leaving your books. Tuesday: 9:30 am -1:30 pm
Wednesday: 11:30 am - 3:30 pm
Thursday: 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
Friday: 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
Saturday: 1:30pm - 3:30 pm

Annual membership is for the calendar year; new memberships starting after October 1 extend through the next year.

In addition to accepting general donations, the Friends of Western Carteret Public Library also offer you a permanent and meaningful way to honor or memorialize loved ones and friends. All gifts will be acknowledged in the Book of Donors, and gifts of $100 or more will be acknowledged on the appropriate plaque in the library. No donation is too small to be appreciated!
